The text below was penned some time ago. There has been some improvements – in knowledge and confidence; however my lack technical understanding slows me down, increases my lack of confidence and drives me to procrastination………and I have been procrastinating. I need to become more alacritous..
I am sitting here alongside my grand daughter confusing myself and sending up my blood pressure – and why? I have to learn another technical thing to do with blogging and I’m not sure how to do this or if it will be of any benefit to me.
With all the talk about privacy and safe ways to use this medium I’m in total confusion and I find that the jargon given in the information still eludes me.
I watch my 11 year old grand daughter use the computer to produce an excellent piece of work for her geography homework, and marvel at the ease with which she uses the computer. Nothing to do with computer phases her or her younger siblings; use of the computer for them is as easy as it was for me to use just pen and pencil when I was going to school – then, the only technology that was available was the manual typewriter and you had to be selected to learn to use it.
So, now I’m in the, 20th – oops! the 21st century in the 13th year, and I’m pulling out my hair about how to merge my blog in with google+. How do I do this without causing me further confusion in writing and posting my blog? How will this benefit me in doing it anyway? And how can I be sure that my personal details won’t be published when I transfer it to another platform?
However, nothing ventured nothing gained! I promised myself that I would continue and improve my blogging as another way to become comfortable and familiar with using the web; so learning about this latest medium will help to reduce the mind fog and make more electrical pathways for my ‘little grey cells’.
So, now I’m going to have a cup of tea, and wait for my son-in-law to come home so I can harass him. He’ll be able to answer some of my questions and explain some of the jargon.
