Week 2

Run 1 – With Leeds Girls Can Group

‘It does Not Matter How Slowly You Go As Long As You Do Not Stop’. Confucius

Having 3 rest days before tonight’s session was a godsend. I was exhausted the day after the final run in week 1.

It was a struggle to get going today, somehow I was really exhausted today. Maybe one the days my body says to rest.  But I didnt want to miss totay’s session as I wont be able to do the homework on Saturday.

I managed to take my time and complete all the sessions, despite the heaviness I felt in my body.  Michael Johnson’s gentle, smooth and encouraging voice told me that today’s run is 90 seconds and to take it slow and easy. 50% more running than week 1.   So, I took it slow and ended up the runt of the group.  But, I didnt stop.

I felt so proud of myself that I completed the session without stopping.

Cool down and group photo then catch up on the yoga session I didnt do this morning.  Wow, I feel so energised!

Run 2 – Solo Run

Today’s run went better han I expected.

I’d missed Saturday’s, couldn’t do it on Sunday and was too tired on Monday, So I did it this afternoon and surprised myself.

I had more energy than I though I’d have, given that The past few days had been so heavy with activity; but I took my time and followed the advice of Michael Johnson and just did gentle jogging around..

I was still energised when I got home and finished with a 15 minute yoga cool down. I’d like to do the third and final run for the week tomorrow, but I know I’d be cutting it a bit close as Week 3 starts on Thursday and I don’t want to be too exhausted at the beginning.

Run 3 – Solo Run To Catch Up!

I missed this today and I was too tired to go out.  I stayed home and rested. The miserable weather today didn’t help either – it rained all day.

I hope that I’m not affected too much at the start of Week 3 because I only managed 2 runs this week.
